Curriculum
Herbert Ibarra Elementary School is a kindergarten through fifth grade school. Each grade level follows the Common Core standards for math and literacy and the California State standards for science and social studies.

Testing
At the end of every school year, students are Ibarra in grade 3-5 take California Assessment of Student Performance (CAASP) tests. The Common Core aligned reading and math tests are administed on a computer. These are the Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments. Fifth graders also take a Science test which is based on the California state standards for science. Students with special needs who are not diploma bound take the California Alternative Assessment (CAA) test.
